maggie and milly and molly and may
E. E. Cummings, 1894 – 1962*
maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles,and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea
* Thank you, Kip Harris, for including this poem in your “Artist Statement” at your current exhibition at the Jo Beale Gallery. (I love your work!)
Dear Patricia,
Hello, there, Patricia, my so, so very For Always special and precious For Always soul sisterfriend of mine who you’re For Always so, so very much! I was praying so much and so hard, thinking of you, and sending to you positive energy that you would have such a sparkling, full of such fun time when you were away, sister, just overflowing with blessings for you, my friend, and full of such greatly immense rest and relaxation, Patricia! Yay! Sister, I just so Love this beautiful, absolutely inspirational blog post article which fills me with such great cheer with its title that I can relate to as someone who has delighted in the serene quality of water finding my rest and my comfort in how the very depths of the water reached inward to my very soul, Patricia! This title is just perfect here, absolutely perfect, and perfectly adds to and complements the very theme and topic of this stupendous blog post article because it accents your writing very well in how you are brilliantly highlighting how the sea and other magnificent bodies of water can call to us and reach us deeply within, my so, so very dearest friend! The picture which you have very graciously and generously featured here is just lovely with the glorious, azure-blue skies, the rocks in all of their majesty, and the delicious looking, deeply blue water, sisterfriend! Sister, I just LOVE the preciously beautiful cairns as such guiding landmarks, and all of the lovely stones in all of their radiance in enhancing our very spirits, my friend! When I was growing up where I’m originally from in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and I would go to see Lake Erie on the shores when I would swim in Lake Erie I’d go to the bottom near the shore line and collect rocks for my own collection, but also with my quite a collection I’d also give some rocks to my maternal grandmother and my mother who were at the beach with me. They just loved my little presents! :)!!!!!
I thank-you so, so very much, so, so very profusely, kindly, dearly, and deeply for very graciously and generously providing these marvelous links with such fascinating and interesting info and beautifully grand pictures, Patricia! Patricia, wow, I, too, love the pictures by our Kip Harris, sisterfriend! Sisterfriend, the scenes are very gorgeous and profoundly deep and just make me for so long deliciously gaze at them in their nature’s pure beauty! When the pictures by our Kip Harris look this awesome from a computer screen I can just imagine what a delightful vision they must be even more so to eagerly look upon them actually in person at the art gallery! Wow,sister, I’m so glad that you were able to experience and to enjoy this! I’d not heard of Kip Harris before. See, I learn very many interesting and amazing things from you, Patricia! I am also just very thrilled, overjoyed, and happy that Kip Harris included the enlightening E. E. Cumming’s poem in the “Artist Statement” at the current exhibition at the Jo Beale Gallery. Wow, I just so, so very much love the E.E. Cummings poem. It reminds me of my adventures as a little girl, young girl, pre-teenager, and teenager playing on the beaches and in the massive waters of Lake Erie, sister. As a little girl, I remember how I loved the sounds sweetly and abundantly coming out of the sea shells which just made me lost in my imagination as I envision the entire history of the lifespans of the sea shells and where they had been in their travels along their journeys in the waters and on the beaches. I remember looking at for a long while and checking out the dead star fish just being very intrigued by it. I love smooth round stones just as our E.E. Cummings describes with such enticingly descriptive clarity. Wow, I am even feeling brighter and more cheerful as usual as For Always from this awesome blog post article filled with such grace and beauty written with such a warmth and graciousness, Patricia.
